GUID Database Revival - Welcome

Welcome to the renewed GUID database.

• It is searchable with multi search add-ons for browser. Search for multiple entries in one go.
• Avoid conflicts with originally registered GUIDs (Not foolproof; assuming GUIDs where assigned in a certain way).
• Avoid conflicts with new random GUIDs (that are in the DB).
• Creators are indexed - see if your favorite active creators are on there.
• Everyone can join, but only members can post.

 

How it works:

- Get GUIDS: An easy way to get GUIDs is by using this website, Generate Random Hex (set to 8 digits), you can get as many as you want at once.

For randomized GUIDs not assigned by Ambrosial's OG website, the working assumption is that using a number above a certain threshold will be safe to use - against registered cc [0x01000000]. It was explained by simmer22 on MTS (Link).
This db only includes information uploaded by its member's, so following that assumption should get you good with older cc.

Use multi-find, or whatever works for you, to search for numbers below that threshold:

A partial recreation of the OG database is on MTS (Link), but it can't be multi-searched, to my knowledge. This is also the reason I opted for this format instead of a spreadsheet.
That's the best I can do, given that none has access to the original database other than its creator, and he has gone awol some years ago.
This DB could be a setup for a SimPe plugin that'll replace the og method, so there's that potential.

- Search: Before posting, Run a search for your GUIDs in the Recent Entries page. It should contain all the community posts in a single page - so it can be searched in one go.

Search multiple entries at once with a browser add-on. I use Multi Find and it's working well for me, and it's free (obviously). It's available for various browsers - Get it here. In the picture below I searched for a 100 GUIDs at once.

Or just search for a single GUID with good old ctr F.

- Post your GUIDS to the community. Each person should have their own post, just edit it when you add new ones.
You can simply copy paste a table from excel, with or without the cc's name. Or, copy a list from notepad into a table in DW's post rich text editor.
Post your reserved/unused GUIDs as well.

Tag your post with your username, it'll make for an index.

When copying from excel, please arrange the table as wide as you can, and with the least amount of rows, like in the picture above. As to not clog the page. The above table has 100 GUIDs, 13 rows x 8 columns.
When copying from a text list, in post editor, Rich Text -> insert a table -> 1 row x as many columns as you can, 1080p wide -> paste multiple GUIDs to a single tab. Navigate to the next tab with keyboard arrows.
 

If any one has any suggestions or ideas I'd like to hear them.
No further handling/moderating is necessary, so if anybody wants moderating access - so it won't rely on one person, let me know.
